Communication

Technology can help kids with ASD communicate through audio therapy or allowing the device to speak for the kids. In a personal interview with Annie Cavataio, a special education teacher at Gar-Field Senior High School, she mentions that the technologies she uses, primarily IPads, have helped her students because it has allowed them to communicate more effectively and the devices were a time-saver to her. Additionally, The Hope Technology School in California has mentioned that technology can help with communication through the use of the senses, which kids with ASD tend to use often. Moreover, according to a recent study done in Canada, the devices boosted motivation in kids with autism by 75% (Daily Mail). This evidence is important to note because kids with ASD tend to be restricted in communication. Therefore, technology can help autistic children with communicating with other people.
